Riley Construction and Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital (NLFH) have maintained a successful partnership since the early 1990’s. Riley has performed 342,000 SF of construction management services for their Master Plan Renovation Program which transformed nearly every department within the hospital as well as numerous building additions.
Riley has completed construction in virtually all areas of the hospital while all of the adjacent areas were occupied. In some cases, such as ICU, work was done while the area was occupied. Areas of renovation and new construction include postpartum, critical care, ICU, extended care, MRI addition, day hospital, OR renovation, pediatrics, day surgery, procedure rooms, recovery rooms, emergency room addition, medical office building, tenant build-outs and an $8 million health and fitness institute. Riley also completed the 116,000 SF Hunter Family Center for Women’s Health. The project included a 73,000 SF addition for new exam rooms, classrooms, educational areas, new labor and delivery rooms, new patient rooms, new nursery rooms, and a new C-Section operating room. The renovation, performed in multiple phases, involved 43,000 SF at various locations throughout the existing hospital.
