On October 19, 2011, Abbott Laboratories announced it’s plan to separate into two publicly traded companies. One retained the Abbott name, and focuses on diversified medical products including medical devices and medical tests, the other was named AbbVie, Inc. and specializes in research-based pharmaceuticals.
Recent projects include the new facade on the existing A1 Building which is the Corporate Operations Center for AbbVie. Due to the operations of the facility, all work has been performed from 6:00 pm – 6:00 am to avoid any disruption to daily operations. The J-17 Hangar project that consisted in the upgrade of an existing airplane hangar including offices and flight waiting area for AbbVie Aviation; and the AP16 HCV project, a build-out of 7000 SF for a new primary and secondary packaging suite for the new Hepatitis C cure.
