A CORPORATE OBLIGATION
Riley Construction is committed to the communities we live, work and operate in through many avenues. We strive to make these initiatives a vital part of our company’s culture and value the importance and personal growth and satisfaction our employees gain from their volunteer participation. Whether volunteered time or in-kind donations, Riley Construction is an active supporter of civic and service organizations in an effort to improve the lives of others. We are dedicated to staying involved in the Wisconsin – Illinois communities and making a difference. We are actively engaged in giving back to our community through the many support opportunities presented to us.
Riley has participated in a number of exciting events that were not only fun but highly rewarding as well, and will continue to stay committed to making a difference! Some of the most recent events are shown below:
2017 Warrior Dash obstacle course race
Riley Construction had a great group attending the Warrior Dash this past Saturday, May 13. The event is a reinvented 5k run that consists of a fun obstacle course race that our group proved anyone can start, and everyone can finish. Seasoned and beginner athletes alike took the challenge to conquer 12 world-class obstacles like the Goliath and Fisherman’s Catch, wade across wooded lakes and streams, and venture through mud-caked backroads as they made the loop to the finish line. All were rewarded with a finisher medal, a sweet t-shirt, fuzzy Warrior helmet, ice cold beer and a post-race party to relive the course with friends, and celebrate the decision to live a normal weekend in the mud.
Funds from the event registration and donations are provided to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
2017 ProHealth Care RiverWalk for Cancer
What happens when three different communities unite at the same time for the same purpose? Something amazing. And that something is the ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer.
Each year on the first Saturday in May, ProHealth Care Walks take place simultaneously in Mukwonago, Oconomowoc and Waukesha. People from across Waukesha County and beyond join together to support cancer services at ProHealth Care. Funds raised at these events stay in the Waukesha County to have a direct impact on the lives of cancer patients each day.
This past Saturday, May 6th Riley employees along with friends and family supported the ProHealth Care Riverwalk for Cancer.
The event was a HUGE success for one of Riley’s largest clients!
Engineering Career Day
Career Days is an ongoing program that gives engineers the opportunity to interact with young students throughout each year and visit high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools. By visiting young students they promote engineering and answer questions that students have about the engineering profession. This brings a better understanding of the professional engineering career. The experience is very rewarding for both the engineer and the students.
Patrick Flaherty, project engineer at Riley, did a presentation at Victory School in Milwaukee as part of Engineering Career Day for the middle school students.
ProHealth Care Community Gardening Program
The Riley Crew was at it again. Last year a group of Riley Employees built 10 raised bed planters for a Community Garden Program at ProHealth Care. The Riley crew made up of Craig Matthews, Amanda Toepel, Dave Riley, Pat Flaherty, Dave Gerou and Franz Lehner all donated 5 hours of their time last Friday (our first ½ day Friday…..). The planters again turned out great, and are already fully planted. Everyone pitched in by grading a stone walk-way…thanks Dave and Amanda, cutting lumber for 10 raised beds…..thanks Franz, and then constructing the 10 raised beds…..thanks Craig, Dave and Pat. We are so thankful to be a part of a great program that helps out a community that we live in.
