QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM:

Quality defined, is freedom from errors or deficiencies. Quality consists of those product or service features which meet the needs of the Owner. Quality means adding value to the entire product and service process through the commitment to improvements.

Riley Construction believes that a successful Quality Control Program involves the entire project team. Our program utilizes the following key methods:

Early Detection
Upon receipt of completed drawings and specifications, a review of the contract documents is conducted. Specific focus is given to inspections, testing, and special submittal requirements. These items are thoroughly reviewed by the project team to identify quality issues, alternative value-added methods, etc. All special construction details are reviewed by contractors, supervisory personnel, and management prior to the installation of the work. If necessary, recommendations can be made at this time for improving quality of product and/or installation. Mock-ups and samples will be used to the greatest extent possible to identify quality standards expected.

Qualified Performers
During the procurement phase, trade contractors and material suppliers are screened for their experience and reputation for providing quality product and installations.

Progress Inspections
Timely and detailed quality inspections are performed to monitor expected standards. Substandard performance will require immediate correction and follow-up inspections.

Recognition For Quality Performance
During regular construction meetings, contractors will be recognized for their quality performance on specific examples of construction installations. The regular construction meetings will also be utilized to define acceptable methods, reinforce quality standards, and continually keep the team focused on commitment to quality.

Continuous Training
We provide on-going training for all supervisory staff. Superintendents attend a 2-year course in the Supervisory Training Program issued by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) as well as the OSHA 10-hour training certification program. Monthly, project managers and superintendents meet to discuss productivity, quality management, and safety issues. Video taping of specific construction methods on active projects is used to highlight the discussion.
